Antonia Lofaso
Chef Antonia Lofaso's culinary creations are an invitation to explore the depths of her inner world. Curiosity grew in her after she moved from her home in the Long Island suburbs to explore the vast cultural diversity in Los Angeles. The belief in the idea that cavatelli and carnitas are able to coexist effortlessly on a menu conveys a sensibility which is constantly evolving. Each of her dishes is infused with a unique outlook for the future while also reminiscing about the past. Scopa Italian Roots was opened in 2013 by Lofaso, who is inspired with her Italian American roots. The restaurant was greeted with a warm welcome. Lofaso's take on old-school Italian has been hailed as one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian restaurants. The restaurant is frequently loved by the Scopa's customers for its food, which is real and utterly enjoyable. Lofaso was a student of legendary chefs and absorbed their sophisticated techniques but she never hesitated to make bold decisions in order to follow her intuition. She quickly climbed the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago and was able to transform various high-profile kitchens of Los Angeles while working closely with numerous celebrities. Lofaso worked along with Sal Aurora to create Black Market Liquor Bar which was an upscale bar located within Studio City. Through Black Market and the business partnerships she formed Lofaso found an appropriate home. Lofaso could finally enjoy the creative freedom she wanted. Black Market is not constrained to a specific direction and that is the intention. The first course could be chipped potatoes and peppers with dill, followed by Korean wings and meatballs. Antonia is the anchor of this dazzling array. In her long career Lofaso has judged her accomplishment with her exceptional ability to comprehend her audience while staying in line with her personal style. The Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars demonstrated her capability to communicate her personality outside of the kitchen. Since then she's maintained her work in front of cameras with CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge as well as regular appearances on The Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso has teamed up with Penguin to release The Busy Mom's Cookbook - 100 Recipes For quick Delicious Home Cooked Meals in 2012. This cookbook also tells the story of her struggle as a mother of Xea and pursuing her studies in the French Culinary Institute. Lofaso believes that all her achievements are the result of her love of cooking and she is capable of keeping her finger in the middle of this industry by focusing in the kitchen. Chefletics revolutionizes the look of Chefwear with its emphasis on fashion and practicality. Her main focus is to stay committed to her goals. With this in mind, she launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. This gives customers an extremely personal experience.
